INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

The world looks to Vienna

In particular, this is reflected in the European institutions, where metropolises are increasingly lobbying to have their voice and specific positions heard. Housing is a field where Vienna’s input is especially valued in international co-operation via European networks, such as Eurocities, EURHONET and UNECE.

But even beyond this scope, the “Vienna Model” of affordable housing continues to meet with great interest, which finds expression in numerous invitations to present exhibitions or keynote speeches or to participate in discussions. This massive interest in the “Vienna Model” is likewise reflected in many visits by delegations from e.g. Sweden, Iceland or even Mongolia. Presentations at events abroad are another fixed item on the agenda of knowledge exchange. Exhibitions describing the “Vienna Model” of affordable housing often serve as starting-points for presentations and discussions with experts, authorities and the public at large.
